How to Limit the Power of Cookies 🥺

What are cookies? 🧐

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your computer or device to remember:

  • your preferences,
  • login data,
  • language.

All to enhance your browsing experience and provide relevant content based on this knowledge.
There are two types of cookies: session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies, on the other hand, remain on your computer or device until they become outdated, or you delete them yourself.
However, some people are concerned about their privacy and want to disable cookies. Well, they have every right. Here's how to do it.

Manually Disable Cookies in Browser Settings Here's how to do it in the most popular browsers:

Google Chrome

1. Click on the three dots in the top-right corner of the browser window.

2. Click on "Settings."

3. In the "Privacy and Security" section, click on "Third-party cookies."

4. Choose the level of restriction you need:

  • Block third-party cookies: Allows storing login data but prohibits cookies for displaying personalized ads. This won't shield you from ads, but they won't be personalized.
  • Block all cookies: Complete prohibition on tracking and storing.
  • Clear cookies after each session: Erases all cookies when you close the browser window.

1. Click on the Safari browser frame in the top-left corner of the screen and select the "Settings" section.

2. Click on the tab with the hand symbol, "Privacy," and choose the desired level of cookie restriction:

  • Block all third-party cookies (prevent cross-site tracking);
  • Block all cookies: Here, you can also customize which sites to restrict or allow cookies by using the "Manage Website Data..." button;
